1. What is DNA?
DNA is the genetic substance within the human chromosomes that carries the hereditary instruction for producing proteins. All human beings bear a basic resemblance to one another because of their shared human heredity. Each individual inherits a different combination of traits, such as height, hair, eye and skin color. Chromosomes consist chiefly of protein and a substance called deoxyribonucleic acid, commonly known as DNA.
